Shoot Info - or -
F.A.Q. for Interested Talent

Although the best way to describe a shoot is over the phone where each and every individual question can be answered carefully, we have written out a lot of this in various emails over time. So here it is, the F.A.Q. for future Red Handed Performers.

Where do shoots happen? (back to top)

Because we are all about real people and their real solo sex, we like it best when we can shoot in a performer's home. A lot of people also feel more comfortable doing this in their own environment. That being said, about half the people we shoot can't or would prefer not to shoot in their home. In those cases we find a location (usually in San Francisco) to shoot. We are currently negotiating a permanent shoot location, but for now rest assured that whether you want to work on our location or host your own shoot, we can do it.

How many people are in the room? What do they do? (back to top)

There are three crew people at each shoot. Currently, Boots does most of the dynamic videography and also usually conducts the interview portion of the episode. Sincock mans the second stationary video camera and makes sure that the correct paperwork gets correctly filled out. The last member of our crew is a photographer. Of late, Lolo, Sincock's wife has been doing this, and we expect she will continue.

The atmosphere is very relaxed and laid back. We just want you to have a good time. If you would like to have an all girl crew, we can ask Sincock to sit this one out and get one of our backup crew women to take over. Just let us know.

What is the talent asked to do? (back to top)

We don't direct! In fact, we don't tell you what to do at all. We want to document your real masturbation experience whatever that may be.

Every episode does have a similar beginning and end. We start an episode with an interview about sex, love, identity and of course, masturbation. Some people are very talkative and it goes on for a long time. Others are reserved and it is done very quickly. After the interview, the performer masturbates however they like, with or without toys, with or without external stimulus. We end the episode with another interview that wraps it all up.

While we don't direct, we have been called upon to help create people's fantasies. We have worked with people that are such submissives that they can only get off if told what to do, and so we do tell them what to do. We have also been called upon to provide fabulous toys, play background porn, redecorate and bring off screen performers for eye candy. We can create any scene or fantasy given enough time. And, of course, if you are entirely self-motivated, we are happy to stand back and document your sexiness.

How long does it take? (back to top)

How long the episode takes depends on each performer. We have seen nine orgasms in less than a half hour and we have also seen one orgasm lovingly approached for over an hour and a half. We typically schedule 2.5 hours per shoot, which includes a half hour for paperwork and set up, and a half hour to clean up.

How much stuff do you bring to a shoot? (back to top)

We have two professional video cameras that we lug around in one discreet case. We bring a couple of well packaged lights, a tripod, and various cloth and bedding materials to spice up the 'set'. We have a gym bag containing an all in one printer copier that we use to photocopy and scan IDs. Although this might sound like a lot of stuff and you may think we can't work in your small environment, we have a very streamlined set up. We regularly work in small spaces with relative ease. We also are very discreet, you neighbors won't look at us and imagine we are shooting video. They will just see people walking to your house with a couple of suitcases.

What does it pay? (back to top)

First off, let me just say that if this is place on the page you are reading this is not your gig. Most of our performers come to us because they are fullfilling a life long fantasy of exhibitionism. The money is a fabulous extra, but their primary motivation is good sex that they can't get any other way.

That being said, women and transfolk of all flavors make $150 per shoot. On the rare occasions that we shoot bio guys (ie. male born men), they make $50. Why? Simple supply and demand. We are overrun by men wanting to perform for us, and the demand to watch them is very small. Also, sex work is perhaps the only areas where women make more than men. When Boots can with ease and grace make what a man doing the same engineering job would make, you can talk to us about reversing this gender bias. Until then, whine to someone else.

Who is the site looking for? (back to top)

We want people who like sex, enjoy doing it in front of other people, and enjoy masturbating. We want people that will have a relatively easy time coming, because they enjoy it. Currently we are only looking for women (trans or original) and FTMs.

What about male performers? (back to top)

We just aren't looking for bio male performers. We get too many interested candidates, and many of them have bad boundaries and general creepiness. For that reason we only take males by reference. So if you are bio guy aching to get on our site, you will first have to know someone or get someone you know on to the site. Please don't harrass us. We don't make exceptions. We know you think you have the most special prick in the world. We still don't care.

Are you looking for other crew or employees? (back to top)

Nope.

What kind of paperwork do I need to fill out and do I have to use my real name? (back to top)

We have three forms that we need you to fill out: 1) Age Verification Paperwork: Federal law mandates that all sexual imagery we create must be of people over 18. In addition, we don't support pedophilia and want to verify for our own ethics that you are of age. State ID or Passport is required for the completion of this form. 2) Talent Information Form: This is for our internal use and includes contact information so we can stay in touch with referral fees and bonuses. 3) Model Release Form: This is a legal form that give us the right to use your image. The next section goes into more detail about this form and what it means. This form does not, however, limit your ability to work for other producers.

We encourage talent to choose a stage name, if you have any desire to remain anonymous. However, all the paperwork must include your legal name ... or the paperwork is not legal ... and we go to jail.

What happens to the photos and video? (back to top)

Red Handed Porn has a vested interest in producing high quality entertainment, and therefore, will keep full and exclusive control over the media collected at each shoot. We do not sell or license your image.

An unfortunate reality of porn advertising is that consumers expect to see some of the goods before they buy. We work with a few ethical affiliates who showcase our content. These affiliates include indienudes, TGP and The Sensual Liberation Army. We do not distribute content from every episode to these affiliates, but the choice of whether we do or don't is not yours to make. Alternative porn is a shockingly unprofitable business and unless you intend to pay us for the cost of your episode so that we do not have to do marketing, and you pay a lawyer to remake our boiler plate model release you have to live with us marketing our site however we ethically can.

Eventually we intend to make DVDs from select episodes. These will be distributed a number of ways, but they will always be produced by this company with quality and trust in mind.

Can I disguise myself or hide my face? (back to top)

No. People dress up in all kinds of situations. Sex is one of those places where drama and image are paramount, so people sometimes wear make up and costumes and wigs. Mostly, these enhancements to sex aren't really significant enough to mask a person's appearance.

We spend a lot of time shooting faces. Why? There is nothing particularly sexy about body parts. It is the person and what they bring to the situation that makes for sexy footage. If discretion is such as issue for you that you are trying to hide your identity, you should not pursue this.
